WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED?
Junior clubs, golf balls, and learning equipment is provided for your junior golfer to utilize. If a junior golfer has their own golf clubs, we encourage them to bring those to practice.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
Proper golf attire is required. Appropriate clothing consists of: a collared shirt, khaki pants, and any type of athletic shoes.
CAN MY CHILD MISS ANY CLASSES?
As a youth development program, we teach and reinforce the nine core values: two of which being responsibility and perseverance. Attending classes regularly is an easy way to practice those values. In the case of an emergency, we do understand and excuse those absences. Unfortunately, if two or more classes are misses, the student will be dropped from the session.
WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE?
Class size, age, and curriculum vary according to the class your child is enrolled in. All students begin at the PLAYER level of the program. At this level, we focus on introductory golf instruction and interpersonal skills. The next level, is BIRDIE. At this level, we provide more advanced instruction and focus on goal setting. The EAGLE level is designed for students who have been with The First Tee for a minimum of 3 years and practice regularly outside of The First Tee. At this level, our most advanced golf curriculum is delivered as well as our life skills curriculum which is focused on resiliency and planning for the future.
Each class we begin by a coach introducing the life skill and golf skill of the day.
WHAT AGES ARE THE STUDENTS?
We have classes for ages 6-17. We also have classes for all ability levels.
ARE THERE ANY PERKS OF JOINING THE FIRST TEE?
There are many benefits of The First Tee Experience. Our goal is not only to improve your childs golf game but to aid in character development by reinforcing the values inherent to the game of golf. Additional benefits include: Family activities, discounts at local golf courses, golf tournaments

JUNIOR GOLF CLUBS AND WHAT SHOULD I BUY?
When looking for junior clubs, be sure to purchase clubs based on your child’s height, not their age. A quick and easy measurement of which clubs are appropriate would be to take the 7 iron out of a set of junior golf clubs and hold it perpendicular to the floor. The end of the golf club should be just below the childs’ belly button.
WHERE ARE SOME LOCATIONS WHERE MY CHILD COULD PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF THE FIRST TEE?
There are several driving ranges within the area where your child can practice. A driving range is alocation to practice ones golf skills. Typically, you would buy a bucket full of golf balls which can be purchased at the “Pro Shop” or sometimes out of a machine next to the driving range.
YOUR CHILD COULD ALSO PRACTICE AT A FEW LOCAL GOLF COURSES:
